What Draws You ~Rumi

There are two types on the path, those

who come against their will, the blindly religious,

and those who obey out of love.

The former have ulterior motives.

They want the midwife near because she gives them milk.

The others love the beauty of the nurse.

The former memorize the prooftexts of conformity

and repeat them. The latter disappear

into whatever draws them to God.

Both are drawn from the source.

Any motion is from the mover.

Any love from the beloved.

I haven't written for a while and really not sure what to.

Last week, my husband took me to a poetry night. He's been trying to get me to go for about four months now. For one reason or another, we've not been able to go. So, last week we finally made it. His intention was to have me read one of my poems. I'm glad we were late and I was not able to sign up to read. It was good though, in many ways. Next time I may read. It motivated me to start working on my book again. And... it was a nice date with my hubby. :)
